Cambridge Unmasked

Litter journal walk from Chesterton to Hills Road via Chesterton Road, Christ's Pieces, and St Andrews Street. Once again, and even though I set out on the walk without any preconceived ideas of what litter I would discover, I documented mostly discarded facemasks.

We Will All Have To Pay!

"...local councils will spend around £20,000-100,000 of council tax payers’ money per area to clear up littered face masks.[...] 50 million face masks are going to landfill each day across the UK, with face mask litter killing wildlife and ending up in our oceans."

“Masks are being chucked away in the street and in beauty spots. Go anywhere and within minutes I bet you'll see one in a hedge or on the ground.”
Julia Bradbury (Cited Spyro S. 2020)
