Wandlebury Path , Cold Wax Painting

8th May, 2019

This painting is a continuation of my study of woodlands. I decided to use cold wax and to keep the painting loose and I did not a paint brush once during the creation.

Cold wax allowed me to build up layers without needing to wait fot the paint to dry and enabled me to scratch right back to previous layers and colours.

The painting is very much about mark making and I used a a whole of tools from spatulas, palette knives, graphite pencils to nails.

Cold wax and oil paint on craddled birch plywood, 400 x 500 mm
