Mural for Horizon Resource Centre

21st August, 2019

Ron Heron posted a shout-out on the Cambridge lonely arts club Facebook group for volunteers to paint murals at Horizon Resource Centre. The Cambridge based centre provides a day service for adults with learning disabilities. Ron, Hilary Butler, Lele Saa, Cathy Dunbar and I agreed to give up our time to help brighten up the walls. Each of us bringing our own methods and individual styles.

I chose to reinterpret one of my treescapes but on a much larger scale. Consequently, I needed much bigger brushes and a large quantity of paint. For the paint I mixed standard masonry paint (acrylic based) with artist acrylic colours and also created my own medium which included a quantity of GAC 100 (helps to add weather protection).

Below are photos of the various stages of development.
